Having realized the negative effect life in the spotlight has had on both himself and his loved ones, Justin Bieber stunned fans today when he announced his retirement from music.
"I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting over the past few months," Bieber wrote on Instagram, referring to his image redemption tour that culminated Monday with the Justin Bieber Roast on Comedy Central.
"And it’s clear my behavior has been unacceptable. It’s damaged important relationships in my life and I believe it is in my best interests to step away from the world of entertainment."

Bieber is only 21 years old, but he is set for life financially.
Not in the business for money any longer, he has the luxury of focusing on what really matters in life.
And after learning of Selena Gomez’s reaction to the barbs pointed in her direction during the aforementioned Roast, Bieber came to a stark realization this week.
"Why should I put those close to me through this?" he wondered online. "Just so I can sell a few million more albums?"
One could argue, of course, that Justin’s music brings joy to countless fans around the globe. But the artist hopes his mental well-being will bring those fans even more joy.
He figures the real ones will understand.
"I couldn’t be more grateful for all the support," he added. "I’ll never forget my Beliebers."
As for what the singer plans to do next, he says he doesn’t have any concrete ideas. He may paint. He may tutor underprivileged teenagers in math and science and hair.
But he’ll always be just one iTunes play away, even if he never records another new song ever again.
"This is just what’s best for me and my family," Justin concluded.
