Araksya Karapetyan is an Armenian-born American television anchor, best known for hosting KTTV FOX11's in Los Angeles.

Early Life, Family & Education

Araksya Karapetyan was born on August 27, 1982, in Gyumri, Armenia, during the rule of the Soviet Union in Armenia. She is currently 40 years old.

Her mother's name is Gayane Tumanyan while the name of her father is not available. The family later moved to Palos Verdes Estates, California, the United States of America where Karapetyan was raised along with her younger sister.

She witnessed the Armenian earthquake of 1998 that had left her native city devastated. She was 6 years old when the devastating earthquake hit her hometown.

The ethnic conflict with Azerbaijan also intensified as the Soviet Union was ruling the nation and due to these hardships, the Karapetyan family had to emigrate to the United States in 1990.

Araksya is of Armenian nationality and belongs to Persian nationality. As for her education, Araksya has attended Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications in New York from where she received a degree in international relations and broadcast journalism.

Career

Following her graduation from Syracuse University, Araksya Karapetyan started her television career as an intern at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. She then worked at KFI 640 AM radio in Burbank, California.

She has since worked for numerous television stations. She served as a reporter, anchor, and producer for KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and as a reporter and host for KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon.

She has also worked as a reporter at CitiCABLE in the City of Torrance, California. CitiCABLE is a government-access cable television channel.

In 2012, Araksya joined the KTTV Channel, and her work on the channel rose her to fame. As of 2019, she serves as an anchor for the Good Day L.A. in Los Angeles. The entertainment program airs every morning.

Araksya Karapetyan is a married woman. The TV personality, who is fluent in Armenian and English and is "conversational" in Spanish and Russian, has been married to her loving husband Amir Yousefi.

The love story of the couple began years ago when they met through friends in Palos Verdes, California. As their relationship started, Araksya moved to New York to attend college, and then to Idaho and Oregon to pursue her journalism career.

Though Araksya and Amir were thousands of miles away from each other, their love and passion for each other didn't die.

The now husband-wife duo tied the knot shortly after the television report moved back to Los Angeles. They don't have a child.
